Hello. I need to know the best settings to capture PS2 footage from Video Composite. The Ulead video editing software doesn't capture audio for me, so I don't want to use that. I also don't have a splitter, since the clips will be relatively small, it's not really needed for me.

I'm running Windows Vista (32-bit), with 2 GB RAM, and a AMD dual core processor. If anymore computer specifics are needed, then please tell me.

There is a bug with Vista programming in Ulead that preview audio doesn't work, but it work very
well when You playback Your recordings. Have You enabled USB audio in use from the options?
Look at my tutorial for that:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/JwOJ65kzpdI&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/JwOJ65kzpdI&rel=0</a>

There is one free software where that Preview audio works both with 32bit and 64bit Vista and it is
VirtualDub. Download it from here:
http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/
There is that capture part here: File/Capture Avi and You can enable Preview audio in use here:
Audio/Enable Playback Audio.

Well, I got the audio to work after recording it (thankfully).

Though is the only way to get rid of the black borders when recording in 16:9 possible through a video editing program?

There is not any black borders if You record video with 16:9 format and You have taken some 16:9 resolution
in use from capture software and Your screen supports also that size. You can also manipulate a little these sizes -
for examble capture video with Ulead Video Studio with max resolution 720x576px (thats not 16:9) and
drag and drop that thumbnail to the timeline and click tab Share and then click button Create Video File
and choose WMV HD PAL (1280x720px) and let it render it now to HD size and format 16:9. This size
is the best possible to Youtube and WMV-file is not too big.

So basically record it, then edit it in Ulead and those black borders would be gone?

Alright. Would WMV NTSC HD work as well?

Also, since you seem to be a definite expert, could you explain why stuff like Gamma, Sharpness, etc is grayed out whenever I try to access my EasyCAP settings?

NTSC format is in use in USA, Canada, Japan and some South-American countries and if You live there You must use NTSC format - we use PAL here in Europe.

What capture software You are using? You can adjust Brightness, Cotrast, Hue, Saturation and Sharpness in Ulead and there is not possible to adjust gamma when You capture
videos and it is not even greyed there. I looked also Amcap and there was these 5 same settings that You can adjust and there was also greyed Gamma, Whitebalance and background light.
So these seems to be features that You cannot adjust with these devices at that point when You capture video. But there is gamma in Ulead Video Studio 10 when You edit
ready video clips - You will find it from here: Edit/Video/Color Correction.

Well, I know I cannot edit the Sharpness before I capture anything, but it's something in the EasyCAP settings.

I'm using Ulead to capture video (VirtualDub does a horrible job with me).
