How do I save to my lap top the programmes I have on my sky+ box?

What out ports does the sky plus box have? This includes the ones you currently are using. If we know this we can probably help you more.

There are no phono sockets so I am using a scart to audio / video out spockets lead from the VCR/DVD scart socket.  I can get a picture on the laptop but it is very slow in updating

What spec is your laptop, processor, RAM, OS ect?

Are you using Ulead?

My set up is using a SCART to phono (RCA) adaptor that connects my EasyCap to the SKY+ Box.

On the computer I use Windows Media Encoder (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx) which can be downloaded from Microsoft for free.
