"No device of this type is present"

I recently bought an easycap and hooked it up to my PS3 and netbook. Because I'm using a netbook I can't use Ulead so I'm using Debut instead. I'm using windows 7 and I updated the drivers.

 Debut lists my easycap under devices but when I select it Debut just shows a black screen. After about 10 seconds the black screen goes away and I get the message "No device of this type is present." Can somebody help me out?

Have you tried windows 7 movie maker (if indeed it has it)? I've had some issues with Debut on XP, but on vista is works fine...
