Hello,

I purchase the DC60 / STK1150 on www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5707
The device came with CD and drivers, but they didn't work. (I'm using a Clean Windows XP SP3 installation to test it.)
Searching the internet didn't help much for finding an updated driver.

the first time i got this message,

but now, even when it's show as working, i can't use it.
running any capture application and selecting the device cause the compute to freeze for a long time.

I see at the top right hand corner of their page it states "satisfaction guaranteed"

How many hours have you tried to get it to work?
Send it back, get a refund and save yourself a lot of grief and wasted time and purchase an "ezcap"

It doesn't matter where you get it from. It will work, It comes with a 12 month warranty and it will save you hours of hassle.

Have you tried uninstalling it and trying again?
Uninstall it, restart your computer, plug the EasyCap in, go to Device Manager (Right-click My Computer > Manage > Device Manager). See if it's there (and if it's installed or not). Double click it, click Update Driver.
When it says "Can Windows connect to Windows Update" click No.
When it says "What do you want the wizard to do?" click "Install from a list of a specific location"
Click "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and then click Next.
Click "Have Disk" and find a file on the CD with a .inf extension. It should be something like "STK1150.inf" (I think it is anyway).
Click Next
A window might pop up saying it's not signed. Just install it anyway.
Restart your computer again.
Does it work now?

Iceman - I have a DC60 and it worked fine with XP and SP2. However, when I recently upgraded to SP3 the DC60 has stopped working. Assuming this is a driver issue I have tried every driver variant I can find but no luck. The STK1160 is recognised and working in Device Manager, but the output from my VHS player is not seen on the laptop (using Ulead Videostudio 10). My laptop won't allow me to go back to SP2 without a complete re-load of XP. If anyone knows of any DC60 drivers that will definitely work with XP on SP3 I would be very grateful to know about them.
