Capture Module Initialization failed

Hello,
Hoping someone can offer me advice. I've been happily capturing with easycap from a VCR for a few days and suddenly I get an error 'Capture Module Initialization Failed'. The input source is now greyed out and I cannot select composite. I think the issue is with the Ulead Video Studio 8 software. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing but no joy. Anyone seen this before?

Hi Gumshoe,

I have not seen this error before, is that the whole message? also what is the heading on the message & what operating system are you using. Have you tried the easycap on another PC?

Also try a system restore to before the program got the error check this link if you need help using it.

Thanks for the reply. I've made a little progress by updating the easycap driver to STK1160. I'm now getting a picture again but only through s-video and no sound. The system restore is a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. Will let you know how I get on.

Sorry, in answer to your question. Yes thats the whole message and it happens when I switch to capture mode. My OS is Vista.
