Hi Forum,

I have about 8xVideo8 tapes to capture, and have already captured 13x Mini DV tapes via Firewire.

I have my EasyCap DC60 to do the analogue stuff with ULead Video Studio 8, which was bundled. I've tried using the default options, but it only seems to capture (Massive files!!) with compression off, and even then, video is stuttering

What I'd like to do is capture at the same bit rate as the MiniDV cassettes - 3mbps, or succesfully with compression. What settings "should" I be using ??

We're talking PAL 8mm cassettes, on a AMD Phenom X2 550 (Black edition) 4GB RAM, 2x 1TB SATA hard drives (Non RAID) and Windows Vista Home premium.

Cheers

Hi Forum,

I know it's bad form to reply to my own post, but I've sorted it tonight...

Basically, I was trying to capture in AVI or DV, not MPEG.

Changed capture to MPEG, DVD 720x572ish in MPEG2. Audio settings default as I'm only capturing mono....

90 minutes worth of MPEG, ready for DVD has come out at 4.3GB. Superb.

Hope this assists someone else.

Regards
