Hi I just got the easycap from dealextreme however I have an eeepc which doesnt have enough space for that ulead crap so I just installed these drivers:

-32bit Drivers of DC60 for eeepc/winxp/32bit (STK1160): http://tinyurl.com/njn6cm
---> mirror

For other Operating Systems / Easycap Revisions use these:
1B. 64bit Drivers of DC60 (Modified STK1160)
http://bit.ly/a6efOO
--> mirror

2. Drivers of DC60+? and EzCAP116 (USB 2861
Device for video and USB EMP Audio
Device for audio)
http://tinyurl.com/mkxz7z
mirror: Part1
  + Part2

When the Driver wizard appears click not to search online and then select open manually and you navigate it to the folder with the drivers.

Then you open VLC and select Media --> Open capture device --> "Video device" select here  the Syntek stk. Click configure to select the correct video mode (Pal or NTSC)
Now you click on play and in my case i got a Picture with strange colors, colours are a bit scrambled (blue faces etc).

This seems because the VLC messes up when the picture comes in  720 x 480  resolution.

Now the easiest solution is the following:
- Make a copy of your VLC shortcut and name it TV for example.
- Rightclick the shortcut and select properties.

Now under target you should find something like this:
C:\Program Files\ VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe
Now add a space after vlc.exe and add this:
--aspect-ratio 15:9 --fullscreen --video-filter=deinterlace dshow:// --dshow-size=640x480

Now it should look like this:
C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe --aspect-ratio 15:9 --fullscreen --video-filter=deinterlace dshow:// --dshow-size=640x480

The 15:9 is the native resolution of the EEEPC 4G and 640x480 is the resolution that doesnt give these strange colors!
