Okay so heres the problem. Since I've got my Easycap Snapshot Usb 2.0 I've always used SD tv, and it's worked absolutely fine. Quality video's etc.

But recently I purchased a HDTV, which means instead of having the normal composite cables from the Xbox 360 to the tv. I have the HDMI cable. With the L/R Audio coming from the other wire.

Which raises some questions about the tv output, since I'm playing in HD, how can I expect my capture card to capture using the composite cable?? As that is SD.

Any help on how I can record in HD, or at least get my capture card working again. When I open up the software that came with it. (ArcSoft ShowBiz DVD 2), all I get is a black screen, with no signal on any of the different settings.

Has me absolutely bamboozled so if anyone can shine some light on my situation, it'd be muchly appreciated.

Hi Shaun,
First off, you do not have an easycap. You have the real deal. You have an EzCAP. All other manufacturers try to imitate what you have.  Wink

It cannot capture in HD. It has to be composite.
So, you need to go with lower quality on your tv when capturing. Your tv will have composite in, somewhere on it.

If you want to record in HD you need to get an "HD PVR". The cheapest I have seen is £170 so there is a huge difference in price.

Well I've figured out how to get it working. I use the component cable that came with my xbox. Has RGB (Red, Green, Blue) and YRW (Yellow, Red, White) split. So I plug the RGB into my tv,and the Yellow off the YRW straight into the capture card. Now for some reason when I plugged both Audio (Red and White) into the capture card I got no sound at all. So now I have to use Y-Splitters for the red and the white.. to split the audio to both my tv and my capture card using composite cables =). It's not ideal playing in SD when you've been used to HD but least it works.

Now my desk is full of wires lmao

Thanks for your help earlier bigweeal, finally got round to figuring it out =)
