S-video black and white problem

I did a quick search but there wasn't a fix to my problem (though people seemed to have the same one or something similar)
Originally I was using composite, had my 360 set to PAL 50 Widescreen with an input/output scart in the back of my TV that connected to the Easycap (via extension cables) and the composite 360 cables plugged into the side of the TV as normal. Everything was working fine.
Recently I got S-video cables for my 360, the cable works fine as the TV is still showing colour and getting sound, however Easycap is only receiving black and white images and this is also true for whatever the TV is outputting. The setup is pretty much the same, still using the same input/output scart except I removed the regular video cable and plugged in the s-video cables. And yes it is set to "video s-video" now.
Is there any way to fix this problem? Since it's not just linked to my 360 I'm assuming it's not a problem with the settings. Could it be a problem with the scart or extension cable? Or is it Easycap itself? Or is it just not possible for (this version of) Easycap to use s-video with PAL properly?

Stick with composite. There are loads of posts on this forum with people having problems with s-video. (black and white or no image at all)
