I recently purchased the Easycap DC 60 to transfer some old movies from VHS to DVD. I have installed the Ulead software and the driver with no problem, but when I try to capture the video I get the message about there being no signal or input. The Easycap seems to work with my webcam on my laptop. I am putting the Easycap directly into my USB port on my Toshiba Laptop which runs Vista Home Prem x32. Since the Easycap & my VCR have female video & audio posts, I used a composite cable with male leads on both ends to make the connections. Could this be the problem? I have researched the forum hoping to answer the question from others experiences.  I read about the switchable Scart adapter that solved most problems but found out that it seems to be a European solution. My VCR would have no connection for this device. I am writing from the States as there seems to be no forum here that seems to cover the Easycap. My VCR doesn't have a s-video connector and only has one yellow output & one white. Does anyone know how I can connect this ? I greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.

Make sure Ulead is set to "video cpomposite" and not s-video.

When you are in the capture screen, click on the cogg at the bottom and select "input source". Select "video composite" from the  drop down menu at the top

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Had to work out of town this weekend. I did as you told me and I did see the video finally. Looks good on the screen but when I tried to capture it I get a message that says the bit rate setting is at 1800 and needs to above 21xx something. I said to capture anyway. When I played it back I got just lines. So I definitely have some tweaking to do. Thanks so much for the help. I am going to reread the posts relating to settings.
