Having weird problems using my easycap device on a Windows 7. It works fine on an old near ruined vista which is unusable.

The picture is also in black and white at NTSC until i change the settings to SECUM. SECUM won't record.

You have not posted a picture.

If it is a DC60 it was never designed to work with Windows 7. There is a link below to a thread that has a fix, it works for some but not for others.

Scroll down until you see the youtube video.

Also>
If it is a DC60 it will never capture in colour for the newer 60hz games. (nodern Warfare 2, etc) as it has the wrong chip installed.

Hope this link works:

http://s276.photobucket.com/albums/kk27/27CDruid/?action=view&current=error-1.jpg

It used to capture colour fine and when i abuse a glitch in videospin so i think the problem must be software related. Im willing to accept black and white for the minute as long as i get good quality. In fact people thought it was an aftereffect i added for my last video!

Im from the PAL region. I have installed the drivers and it all works until i hit the record button. Then that error comes up and it refuses to record!

Is it a DC60? or DC60+

Can you post a link to it?

Also, if you are now on Windows7, ditch Ulead. It is not compatible with Windows7

Plug the easycap in.
Go into your pc's "device manager"
Look under "sound video and game controllers". If you have a DC60, it will show as "Syntek 1160" or Syntek 1150". If you have a DC60+ it will show as "USB 2861 device"

Alternative capture software:

Debut. (free and good)
http://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/

Click on the download link in the first paragraph. Once you have installed, open the program and click on "device" at the top.

I have the Syntek 1160. The ULead software is aware of the device but the Debut seems blissfully unaware.

OK, you have a DC60. It was not designed to work with windows 7.

If you are lucky enough to get it to work, it will never capture 60hz games in colour. The fix for you is in the first post I made on this thread.

If it does not work, spend a little extra and get what all the counterfeits are copying. Get an EzCAP. You will not have any issues with it. Plug it in and away you go.

Ah, ok. Thanks for the help. Im skint and unemployed right now though so getting a replacement is out of the question.

Im going to try using a screen capture program on top of ulead. The quality will probably be horrible but at least its in colour.
