I have just bought the Easycap. Not tried to set it up as i'm working lates over the weekend so want to wait until i have more time.

I am planning to use the Easycap to transfer vhs tapes to my pc. My vcr at the moment is connected to my tv via scart. I have no aerial lead. I go to Av chanel on my tv, press play on vcr & video plays.

The Easycap kit i've bought includes a rca to scart lead with input & output. The scart lead has R/W/Y connectors which will then be connected to the R/W/Y connectors on the Easycap. The question is, now that the Easycap is conected to my vhs via scart i will no longer be able to get the vhs to play on my tv. Will this affect things?

I've also seen that the Easycap has a black s-video cable. I can see nowhere that this cable is supposed to plug into. I have a scart socket on the back of my vhs & that's it. I am assuming the scart lead that came with the Easycap negates the need for this s-video cable.

Apologies for long winded post. I just don't want to spend hours trying to make something work if there's no chance it will.

The only thing it will effect is you won't be able to watch it on tv at the same time you are capturing on the pc but the capturing software does have a preview screen. (set the scart to "out" position)

You need not bother about the s-video output as you have all the required leads for capturing in composite
