So here's my story. A few months ago I bought EasyCAP from this very site. After reading up and studying it, I concluded that it was the DC60 model.
However, it has proven itself to be money straight down the tubes. After trying it with FOUR different computers, three different sources, several sets of cables and every OS from Windows 2000 to Windows 7, I've finally given up this piece of trash.
No matter how I connect it, what software I use or what settings I use, I only get a black screen with no sound.
I have tried several different sets of drivers, 90% of which I found on this forum, but none worked. The drivers on the CD didn't work either.
So right now, I'm considering returning this for a refund unless someone can give me some answers on what to do. I have 60+ tapes of S-VHS that I need to have digitized, and I don't want to buy more equipment for it until I've debunked this completely.
I've tried: - Two VCR players, a VCR camera and a PS3. - Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7, both 32 and 64 bit. - Ulead Videostudio, VirtualDub and 20+ other free capture programs.
No matter what, I only get a black screen.

Are you connecting from scart to easycap? If so, before giving up, i would buy a "switchable scart" It comes with an input/output switch. Set it to "output" so it forces the signal the right way. You can get them for about £1.40 inc delivery from ebay.
I sell EzCAP's and this is the most common problem from vhs to dvd.

What version of Ulead came with it?
If it is version 8.0 it can only be used on XP If it is version 10.0 it can only be used on XP & Vista.
It will never work properly on Windows7
By no sound I presume you are using on Windows7?
Plug in the easycap, go into "device manager", what does it state under "sound video and game controllers" for usb audio?
If you are not sure, when in device manager, unplug the easycap and then plug it back in. Device manager will refresh and you should see the new driver it has just listed.

Got it working now, turns out that the audio component within the easycap device is broken, so I have to capture the audio with a seperate cable.
New problem now however, when using it on my laptop with Windows 7 32 bit, it only recognizes the device as a "imaging device" and wont capture. When i try to select "composite" for the in-signal, it only forces it back to "tv tuner".

Forget Ulead and order "VideoShow Expressions" from WorldStart. It is $16.95 but the transfer is awesome! http://store.worldstart.com/product/5255
