Hi,

I recently bought an EasyCap and am quite pleased with my purchase. I have connected my Sky+ to the PC and can record SKY programmes directly to my PC in WMV format using Windows Media Encoder.

However, there is small issue; a high pitch noise is captured in all the recoridings. When I play back the recorded programmes on my computer there is a noticeble high pitch noice in the background, especially when I use headphones. From the speakers the high pitch noise can't be easily heard.

If I play other video files on the computer the high pitch noise isn't heard so it's definately a problem when capturing from the EasyCap.

I have tried using different software to capture, e.g. Windows Movie Maker, Ulead, etc, even tried different audio capture settings using higher or lower quality but every time the high pitch noise is there.

Could it be an issue with earthing my equipment? I checked and both the PC and Sky+ box are earthed.

What am I missing here?  Huh

I think I have EzCAP 108 or EzCAP006 - can't tell the difference between the two models. Also my PC is running XP Pro.
The systems sees the device as:
video: Syntek STK1160 driver v.1.0.3.0 (09/03/2007)
audio: USB Audio Device driver v.5.1.2535.0 (01/07/2001)

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Finko

I have no idea?  Huh You could try updating the drivers and see if that helps, but you would need to know the exact model you have. Look on the disc that came with EasyCap, it should say Model No: DC60 or DC60+ if it's a 108.
