I am also running Win XP SP-3 and have the EasyCap 108 DC60 model so should be able to help you!
The reason you have no audio is that an
s-video cable cannot carry an audio signal! The s-video cable
only carries a video signal, it produces a better quality image than an RCA cable (yellow) so best to use it if you have the option, but seeing as your VHS player only has RCA outputs you should use them instead.
I would recommend using three RCA cables for capture (yellow = video, red = right audio & white = left audio) with the proper male/female connections on either end according to your coresponding inputs/outputs on your player and EasyCap.
The other problem sounds like it's to do with Video Studio and your system, I cannot capture at all using it either! You can download a free video capture program from the EasyCap website which works very well for me and some others who have compatibility issues with the Ulead software,
here's a link. This is realy meant for the DC60+ model so what you will have to do is this; uninstall the old driver, the EasyCap
must be plugged in when you run the update, after installing reinstall the EasyCap driver from the original disc. You should see that a shortcut called "New Shortcut" has been added to your desktop, rename it AMCap. This is an exellent capture program, the only drawback is that it captures in uncompressed AVI which produces very large files, set the EasyCap to YUY2 in the Options/Capture Pin menu, if it's set to RGB 24 the files with be one 3rd bigger. You would then need to use Video Studio or some other similar program to trim and compress the files so they will fit on a DVD or be managable for file sharing on PC's and the internet!
Good Luck!
